Wallet & recovery

Understand the recovery phrase, encrypted backups, deposits, private transfers and public withdrawals.

Updated 6 October 2026 · Unaudited beta

Keep both kinds of backup

Your 24 recovery words derive the private-balance keys and fresh-wallet keys by index. Your encrypted vault backup preserves local records, positions, action-wallet indexes and labels. The password that encrypted the file is needed to open it.

Open Wallet → Recovery → Download an encrypted backup. Save a new copy after creating action wallets or changing positions. Phrase-only recovery can rescan your private balance, but does not automatically reconstruct every saved position, wallet label or conversation. Do not clear browser storage before preserving a backup.

Restore on another browser

Choose I have a recovery phrase to restore with the words and a new local password. Choose Restore a backup file to open an exported JSON backup using its original password. Restoring over an existing vault replaces that browser's local wallet; back it up first.

Ninox cannot reset a lost recovery phrase. A browser password is not a replacement for the words. A backup contains sensitive encrypted wallet data; keep its password separate.

Deposit BNB

  1. Open Wallet → Private BNB and connect your public wallet.
  2. Confirm BNB Smart Chain, chain ID 56.
  3. Enter BNB, confirm the deposit and network fee in your connected wallet, then wait for confirmation and balance sync.

The deposit address and amount are public. The pool accepts its supported BNB route; do not send tokens directly to a pool address as a substitute for the deposit flow.

Send or withdraw

Wallet → Private BNB → Send privately accepts a Ninox private receive address beginning nx1. or a public 0x address.

  • Ninox receive address: the transfer's recipient and amount are represented by shielded notes, while the transaction and pool activity remain observable.
  • Public address: this is a withdrawal. Its recipient and amount are public.

Review the recipient, amount and relay fee. Wait for confirmation and resync before acting on the balance. Always copy the full address; an abbreviated address is only for display.

When a transaction is pending

Keep the transaction hash and inspect it on BscScan. A delayed balance or pending receipt is not evidence that nothing was sent. Do not repeatedly submit the same payment. If the server or indexer is unavailable, service-backed features may pause even though your keys remain under your control.
